VIENNA (29th May 2018). – This year, for the ninth consecutive year, Mercer – the international consultancy, named Vienna the best city in the world to live in – from 231 major cities around the
globe. The main reasons for being awarded the top spot yet again were the relative safety offered to visitors, the well-structured public transport network, the numerous institutions of cultural interest and the many leisure time options available. Furthermore, the city of Vienna is one of the world’s most important venues for meetings, being ranked second internationally by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), ahead of major cities such as Berlin, London and Singapore. “At Reed Exhibitions Wien, operators of the most active and versatile trade fair, event and congress centre in the whole of Austria, there couldn’t be any better reason for Reed Exhibitions Wien to provide guests at congresses and meetings an innovative tool to make their stays in Vienna more convenient, interesting and successful”, explained Martina Candillo, Director Congresses & Events at Reed Exhibitions Messe Wien. “That’s why we cooperated with VWZ Zeitschriftenverlag on the development of the Very Vienna Congress & Tourist M_App + Guide, to be available free of charge to congress organisers and participating guests from this October onwards.”
In print and as an app for iPhone and Android devices
Printed versions of the Vienna mini-maps and city guides are available. Organisers can also add their own logo, personalise and customise. The convenient pocket-size guides present all the key sights and locations, including the congress centre, and provide information about current highlights and items of cultural interest; where to party, dine and shop, the best transport options and insider tips for a great stay.
Alternatively, those wishing to navigate an event without printed documents can download the guides and maps to their iPhone or Android device free of charge, undoubtedly a more ecologically sustainable means of gathering information and guaranteeing orientation. The app also provides a far more comprehensive range of information, easily accessible addresses and fascinating tips for people exploring Vienna. If desired, congress and event organisers can add detailed information about the event to the app, thus providing additional support to guests attending the congress. The app can also be programmed to serve as a mobile badge as a paperless means of accessing the event. (+++)
