Top-class congresses and events: The VIECON until June 2025

Broad event program strengthens Vienna as a business and science location

Vienna, March 18, 2025 – The coming months will bring a first-class program of events to the VIECON – Vienna Congress & Convention Center, which belongs to Wien Holding via WSE Wiener Standortentwicklung and is Vienna’s leading event center. Until June 2025, VIECON can expect a wide-ranging congress program with topics ranging from medicine and science to technology and innovation.

“The wide range of congresses and specialist events that we will be welcoming over the coming months underlines the importance of VIECON as an essential platform for the transfer of knowledge and business. With almost 46,500 expected visitors and around 189,000 overnight stays generated, we are sustainably strengthening Vienna as a tourist and business location,” emphasizes Oliver Stribl, Managing Director of Wiener Holding.

“Our event center acts as a hub between science, business and society. The congresses help to ensure that Vienna continues to grow as a location for innovation,” says Katharina Weishaupt, Managing Director of VIECON, emphasizing the importance of the location for knowledge transfer.

Successful start to the year with successful crowd pullers
VIECON already welcomed a number of public trade fairs at the start of the year: Ferien-Messe Wien, together with the special show Vienna Drive for the first time, as well as the Wohnen & Interieur and the WIM – Wiener Immobilienmesse, all organized by Austrian Exhibition Experts, were very well received. The sports sector was also in the spotlight with Hyrox. The ASTA River Cruise Expo showed how well the synergies within Wien Holding can be used: while the exhibition and talks took place in Hall D, the latest river cruise ships were presented at the same time in the Danube Shipping Center.

“The variety of topics presented at VIECON shows the enormous range of socially relevant content and underlines our role as an internationally important platform for knowledge transfer and innovation,” explains Martina Candillo, Managing Director of VIECON.

Science, medicine & innovation: top-class congresses at VIECON
The top-class congress program kicks off at the end of March with EHRA 2025, the annual meeting of the European Heart Rhythm Association, which presents the latest developments in research on cardiac arrhythmias and is certified as a Green Meeting. This will be followed in April by ESCMID Global, the world’s leading congress in the field of infectious diseases, and the ISEV Annual Meeting, which is dedicated to research on extracellular vesicles.

At the beginning of May, ESTRO 2025 will bring international experts in radiation oncology to Vienna, while EuroPerio 2025 in the middle of the month will be all about periodontology and implantology. The 51st conference of the Austrian Society of Urology and the Bavarian Urology Association will take place at the end of May, before the IASP – 33rd World Congress of the International Association for Suicide Prevention focuses on suicide prevention strategies in June. The program will be complemented by the TECH Conference by Microsoft, which will transform VIECON into an innovation hub for AI, security and infrastructure on 3 and 4 June.

VIECON is looking forward to welcoming numerous national and international guests in 2025 and further strengthening Vienna as an important location for congresses, trade fairs and events.
